The Gentle Light Of Morning
2018A Lovely painting with lots of movement in the forground. Very bold and beautiful brush strokes in both the sea and sky. I always try to add a modern twist to my paintings. In this painting there are three dashes of colour on the rocky shore which changes this seascape into something intreagingly modern but the essence remains very classical impressionism. The dashes lead the eye down the rocks ending in a small dash of black...which i love to incorperate in my paintings. The rest colours are very soft with warm pink underlayers on the horizon. Cool greys on the rocks, soft browns in the sand.
Second Maasvlakte
2018Wide, bold and big brushstrokes make this painting intriguing to look at! It captures the eye with the shadows in the foreground and draws it through the warm sands to the almost abstract sea break. The perspective created by the sea break takes you all the way back to the horizon. A `massive sky` full of interesting brushstrokes and details that shouldnt work....but just does, give this picture some brilliant light that is also reflected in the water near the shoreline. Cool greys and cool blues. Hard blues, petrol blue and titanium white. Keywords: Blues, Beach, Rocks, Seascape, Seaside, Water, Afternoon light, Warm, Coastal, Sea Break.
Sea Break
2018Lovely bright and large seascape. Colourful sandy beach with the waves lapping at the shore line and around the sea break. I love all of this painting but what really makes it for me is the transulcency of the water on the beach and that dash of redish-brown paint on the main wooden poles in the forground. Wonderful expressive strokes and movemnet to be see throughout the painting. Warm blues and greens. Great light. Complimentary warm undertones. Chunky Italian frame.

Tinted Cloudes - Sea Break II
2018Less is sometimes more. Lovely large seascape in blue, grey and white tones with a splash of warm redish brown to make the picture pop! The clouds have a touch of the transparant redish brown colour found in the foreground on the worn wooden beams. The painting itself is 90cm x 90cm, acrylics on a professional quality stretched cotton canvas. It is framed in a large light stone grey professional hand made wooden frame taking it to 110cmx110cm. The photo really does not do this painting justice! One of my best and well worth coming to view this one in the gallery to appreciate its true beauty.
A Brilliant Adventure
2016Sorry sold!
Vanille Sunset
2016
Mellow painting with great vanille creams and soft blues. The horizon, in real life a man made rock sea break in Ijmuiden, (north sea), reminds me of a vanille pod bubbeling in a pan.
Impressionist in style with broad bold brushstrokes clearly visable in the painting. Lots of deapth and warmth in this painting which is set off by a small amout of red ochre on the horizon.
The painting is framed in an authentic classical italian hand finished wooden frame with a warm wash finish. An absolute joy!
Looking towards zeebrugge
2018A lovely bright calming Flemish seascape painted on the Blankenberge coast looking towards Zeebrugge. Dramatic cloud formation with a light blue sky just peeking through. I love the colour of the Belgium see. So much greener and greyer than on the Dutch coast. The breaking wave washing up in the foreground and the trickle of seawater onto the wet sand sets this picture off perfectly. This picture is sold framed in an attractive blue and tan hand-finished Italian frame.
3 ships and a Burning Sun
2018This painting was inspired by a detial in old painting I came across in Amsterdam. In the original the ships were no more than shadows on the horizon. When setting up this painting I wanted to create that old school feel in a modern seascape using a victorian colour pallet. Love the light, contrast and that big old burning sun. Inclusief Box frame.
Small White Ship
2018A light and airy painting of the Belgium coast, Blankenberge painted in the spring of 2017. Gentle blues and greens, soft clouds and great little detail of a white sailing ship on the horizon. A long panting in a classical white Italian frame: 60cx140cm including frame.
Cumulus
2018Created with brush and pallet knife. Bold strokes, massive sky full of interesting details. Daring black paint in the forground. Somewhere between impressionism and abstration. Framed in a ebony and silver colored hand made Italiand frame.
2 Gulls
2015Great little oil painting made plain air in 2015 at Katwijk aan Zee in south Holland. It shows two gulls standing on the shore. Wonderful vanille sky and dramatic clouds. The reflected light in the beach puddle in the foreground is the star of this painting! Framed in a small italian hand-finished frame.
Grazers
2018My favourite oil painting showing two impressionistic cows grazing in the forground. There is a simple depth to the painting which also works well: A misty horizon and a vanille sky. The painting is 30cm x 30cm and framed in this great deep museam quality aged frame with the overall size 50cm x 50cm. Oil paint on canvas panel. Painted in 2015 with brush and pallet knife. My signiture is scratched into the oil paint in the bottom right-hand corner so it does not distract from the image. It is finished with a glossy varnish.
Moonshine
2018Nice dark moonlight landscape / seascape showing a mountain range with the moonlight refelected in the water.
Mega Bay
2018Small watcolor of a ship in the greek mornig sun.
